Hi, I’m Stacey, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and hold a Master of Art’s in Counselling Psychology degree.
I am currently providing counselling in-person and online for ages 10+. With over 15 years of mental health experience, I love working in:
- Teens & Adults
- Anxiety, phobias, OCD, panic
- Depression, anger, emotional dysregulation
- Postpartum depression and anxiety
- Body image, self-identity
- Trauma, EMDR Therapy
- ADHD
With 15 years of experience in mental health, I combine and integrate various mind-body modalities in order to tailor sessions to your individual needs. My approach is client centred and trauma-informed, with a particular emphasis on Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
When developing a treatment approach, I recognize that our social, cultural, and familial experiences through life, can greatly influence the way we view ourselves and the world around us. At times, our exposures through history may disconnect us from our inner world of knowledge, skills, and resilience. Honouring your story, and the wisdom you enter the room with, is fundamental to our sessions. As we access the qualities, values, and strengths embedded throughout your story, we may develop and grow healthy coping patterns to challenge the problems being faced. Within this process, you may find yourself reflecting on pieces of life in a way that you have never reflected before, opening up a space for movement and change.

I am approaching the end of my Master of Arts degree in Counselling at Providence University College & Theological Seminary and I am doing my graduate counselling practicum at Alive Counselling supervised by Barb Egan. As an intern, I am able to offer sliding scale and low fee counselling.
I am curious about many subjects and have spent time studying business as well as French language. However, I have found that I am particularly passionate about understanding what makes people flourish and come alive and what causes them to struggle. I have worked with kids of all ages as well as young adults in various capacities. Building a strong relationship of trust with my clients and supporting them in a client-centered way is my first priority.
It is a privilege to accompany individuals on their healing journey. I believe that with the right support, people can overcome many difficulties and experience great transformation. By using an integrative approach with an emphasis on emotion focused techniques, I create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can express their thoughts and emotions. Clients have an opportunity to process life deeply and to create new thought patterns and habits that will serve them better in the long haul. Self-compassion, mindfulness, and sitting with your emotions are a few tools that are helpful in this process. I also love helping clients discover their unique strengths and support them in finding the life paths that will help them to thrive.
I spend much of my time off in the outdoors, whether it’s growing a vegetable garden, going on long hiking trips or skiing with friends.

Hello, I’m Robin (she/her) and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and I consider myself to be a wellness enthusiast who is passionate about helping others navigate their life journey.
I have spent my career discovering and sharpening my skills as a mental health clinician. By attending workshops, courses and galvanizing therapeutic modalities (with an attachment, person-centered, EFT and CBT lens), I have honed my skills to attend to the diverse needs of my clients. As important is my lived experience of the many challenges and successes of 25 years of marriage and raising 4 children in a blended family. From this, I have gleaned that there is never one right way to improve a situation, though there are easier paths than others to get there.
My area of expertise are making sense of life and life transitions:
- As a therapist: helping individuals and couples deepen self-understanding for a fuller life and/or marriage
- Couples Counselling
- Anxiety, Stress, Depression
- Grief & Loss
- As a Menopause Practitioner: (peri, menopause, post) – helping women and their partners understand the physical, emotional and mental changes taking place
- As an End of Life Doula: supporting individuals and families transition through grief and surrounding concerns
- As a spiritual seeker: exploring and deepening my own awareness in hopes of expanding the collective consciousness
Work with me if
- You are interested in becoming aware of your patterns
- You are interested in making shifts
- You are interested in structuring your own happiness
I promise a safe space where listening, sharing, and exploring are welcomed. I want to assist you toward personal growth and awareness thereby making room for peace and increased happiness.

Hi, my name’s Špela and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor.
##Counselling Specialities
Areas of life that I’m particularly interested in include:
- University life, Academic Stress
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- ADHD
- Intergenerational Trauma
- Perfectionism & Shame
- Self Injury
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Emotional regulation
I’m really looking forward to meeting you and learning more about who you are, what prompted you to book this appointment, and where you’d like to go from here.
By the way, if you have no idea how to answer those questions, that’s totally okay.
Sometimes life is messy. Confusing. Invigorating. Scary. Or just plain overwhelming. I know what that’s like.
I also know it’s just a little bit easier when someone chooses to sit with you in those moments and says,
>this isn’t too much, you’re not [insert terrible thing you fear is true about you], and you don’t have to hold this alone.”
Still, asking for help is hard. Taking the risk of sharing your fears, uncertainties, and, honestly, hopes with someone is even harder. That’s a huge amount of trust to give someone, and I don’t take that trust lightly.
My Approach to Therapy
As a therapist, my goal is show up for you and help you hold all your messy, complicated, painful, and embarrassing “stuff,” so we can work together to untangle it, make some space for it, decide what kind of relationship you want to have with all those parts, and then work through how you would like to show up for yourself and others in your life.
To do this, we will end up drawing on a whole bunch of modalities (ways of thinking and working through the stuff that brings people to therapy).
For example, we might draw on:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Strengths Based Therapy
- Solution Focused (SFBT)
- Narrative Therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Mindfulness
- Compassion
- Gestalt
- Emotion Focused (EFT)
Basically, we will mix and match to find the best approach for who you are, how you experience things, and the stuff that’s brought you in.

Next Steps
If all this sounds like it might be a good fit, send me an email (spela@alivecounselling.com) to book a consultation or select one of my open time slots.
And, if you’d like to meet, but my listed appointment dates don’t work for you, send me an email and we’ll see what we can do.
But wait! You Promised a Bio.
Oh right. Who am I as a human. I’m a daughter, sister, friend, granddaughter, dog human, and soon-to-be wife. I moved to Canada with my family as a child and now split my time between Kelowna and Sicamous, BC. Prior to pursuing a career in counselling, I worked in marketing and communications, taught English and Communications courses at UBC Okanagan, and worked as an Academic Advisor for the School of Engineering (also at UBCO).
My journey to counselling started over a decade ago when a close friend said, “hey, I want to help, but this is too much for me. Maybe you should talk to someone.” This was several years before the book with the same name came out.
Anyways, I did go talk to someone and while it took several tries to find someone that worked for me (you’re totally allowed to be picky about your counsellor!), I eventually found someone, who did.
The experience had a huge impact on me (and my family). It changed my relationship to my thoughts and feelings and helped me have more compassion for myself and others. It also helped me identify more choices for how I respond to myself (and others), and opened up conversations with my family and friends that, over time, strengthened and deepened our relationships.
All that led me here.
